The online registration process is a great time to gather critical information about registrants for your upcoming event. Go beyond capturing basic name and contact information. Essentially registration can become a survey to help you better understand your target market.
Determine whether this is the first time attending one of your events, what kind of events they would like to attend in the future, and how they learned about the event. The gathered information can give you insight as to how to market upcoming events, what outreach is currently working, determine what to emphasize at the upcoming event, and how to best engage current registrants in the future.
Have a radio button option so that registrants can opt in to receiving information about upcoming events as well as to subscribe to any newsletters your organization publishes. Lastly, have your registration page give the option of sharing the guest’s “Attending” registration to be announced via Twitter and Facebook; their friends may want to join in the fun as well.
