This upcoming Friday, September 14th, Howard Brown Health Center will host the fourth annual Garden of Eve. The event will be held at the River East Art Center with a VIP reception at 6pm and the official event beginning at 7pm. The VIP reception will be hosted by Ted Allen, host of Food Network’s Chopped.
The event will include chef tastings from some of the best restaurants in Chicago, as well as musical entertainment from Meshell Ndegeocello, a 10-time Grammy nominee. Howard Brown Health Center will award the Friend for Life Award to two recipients for their “commitment, persistent advocacy and dedication of time and resources to promote the health and wellness of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.” This year’s recipients are Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Kimberly Y. Smith, MD., associate professor of medicine, Infectious Diseases, Rush University Medical Center.
Proceeds of the event benefit “women’s health and wellness services and programs for uninsured women.” Tickets can still be purchased at www.howardbrown.org/eve.
