Unique Fundraisers

As event season kicks into high-gear, committees will be getting together to discuss upcoming fundraisers.  We’ve all been to the same fundraisers….dinner, opening statements, bid sheet silent auctions.  It’s the same old song and dance.  Let’s liven up the party a little!

  1. Direct Action Fundraising – Many of our clients have opted to participate in Direct Action fundraising.  For example, during the paddle raise, the first paddle raise will be $250 to purchase a student’s uniforms for the year, and as many guests who want to purchase uniforms for a student can raise their paddle.  Another example is donating $500 to feed a shelter for a week; again everyone can participate and donate to as many specific causes as they wish. Vera Bradley Foundation Raises $945,185 for Breast Cancer Research

Earlier this month Events.org had the pleasure of working with the Vera Bradley Foundation in their efforts to raise money for breast cancer research.  The annual Vera Bradley Classic was held in Fort Wayne, Indiana where Vera Bradley is headquartered.  The weekend event included a tennis tournament and two golf tournaments.  Additionally two electronic auctions were held in conjunction with the weekend’s events: the first during the Tennis Gala on Saturday evening and the second ending Monday evening at the Golf Gala. For the first time, golfers were able to enjoy bidding on auction items while they were on the course!  Through iBid, golfers could bid via their own Smart Phones all day while on the course and until the end of the auction after dinner at the Gala Monday evening.  This year, auction proceeds were 30% higher than last year.  Congratulations to the Foundation and all of their guests.

Check out the list of winners from the Vera Bradley 2011 Classic!  We invite you to learn more about the Vera Bradley Foundation on their website.

Thank you to the Vera Bradley Foundation for allowing us to be a part of such a special event.
