Since our first post on how to go green and save has been so popular, we’ve decide to add five more ways in which you can go green.
- Have attendees use their own SmartPhones – Reduce both cost and the use of extra technological props by asking your attendees to use their own SmartPhones to bid on items while attending paperless events. This helps decrease inventory (and saves paper with paperless bidding)! Continue reading
“Imagine”…a seven-letter word that has begun many sentences that are used to introduce the latest and greatest in technology. Disney World has a whole section of Epcot called Future World dedicated to the innovations of the past, present, and future. I remember watching Tom Cruise use an array of far-fetched computer technology in Minority Report only to realize that some of the features shown are almost commonplace today – we’ve all played with an iPad by now. Today’s technology has provided us with the tools to create and implement eco-friendly event practices at affordable rates. By integrating low cost event technology with project management tools, organizations can save money and organize events more effectively. Centralizing event and donor information into one database will minimize miscommunication between employees and guests, retrieve information faster, and access vital event information through a secure internet access.
“Green technology has become an important part of the events industry,” said David Hassan of Events.org. “Organizations spend more on printing than needed, and by placing event materials and registration online, printing costs are nearly wiped away leaving more money to go towards an organization’s cause.” Continue reading
